I ask a waiter today if he knows of any bakeries that are open near here. There are three that I know of; all are closed. In fact, all over the city, I haven’t seen one open in days. He tells me that there are over 1200 bakeries in Paris, and for the past few weeks only 21 have been open. Looks like I might not get to have another pain au chocolat before I leave here, 😦
