Here’s the problem with being a beginner landscape painter in France and painting plein air … expectations are high, and I’m inevitably a disappointment to anybody who wants to venture a glance at my painting.  I did make friends with two little girls, Amelie, 6, and Angelique, 5, who gave me suggestions for my paintings. Anqelique felt strongly that I should paint the statue. The rest of her directions, I didn’t understand, so I copped out and said, “perhaps tomorrow.” Nothing quite as intimidating as a 5-year-old who is more literate than I am, 🙂
