It takes a long time to run errands in Paris. Partly because you’re either on the Metro or on foot. And partly because all the stores are separated out. One store for photo processing, another store for cosmetic-type stuff, another for food, another for housewares, another for shoes. Paris could use a Target. They could also use a dollar store … or a euro store, I guess. The littlest things are pricey here, like tissues and tape. Check out Amazon France and you might faint. I’m just saying, I’m glad I didn’t come to shop. The lift is out in my building, so that also puts the damper on shopping and quick trips to the market. Nothing like hauling something up five flights of stairs to dampen your enthusiasm and appetite.

Monoprix is your Target. Mais the big one Place D’Italie is a hike. Hauling water is
a pain, but this is Paris. I did see a delivery man one day from the local market, but alas you would have to be home to accept the delivery. This is why you are not seeing gigantic packages of paper towel and TP. Once you got it home, where would you store it??
2-packs and four-packs of PT and TP, for sure. And thankfully, you can just remove water and Coke, etc., from the packs and only get as many as you can carry. I was just running out daily for those until the lift was disabled for repairs. My worry is that it will be more than two weeks, since Paris seems to run even slower than Southern time.
