I have a new plan of attack for these crazy hot days. Stay in the apartment in the morning before it gets crazy hot. Then head outside for the afternoon. Sure the subways will be nasty, but otherwise, it’s better than being cooped up in a sweltering apartment. At home, we stay inside on hot days, but here, you want to be outside, preferably in a park in the shade.
Today I’m trying the Chocolate Museum, though, because I figure that must be air conditioned, then the Bon Marche, a huge department store. Then back home for a hosedown, then off to the shady gardens to paint. Then back to hose down and out for dinner. Wish me luck; the Wicked Witch of the West melted, and we all know I’ve got a similar disposition, ha!

Ha, no bags of ice that I’ve seen. Plus if I found and bought it, then I’d have to lug it home for blocks. Guess I’m just going to have to make do with cold showers and awesome gelato.
