Should I get a haircut in Paris? If you’re here, do you have any reccos on where?
This is a very timely post for me because I was fighting with that decision. The answer is “maybe.” I needed a haircut before we left Paris for the summer but kept putting it off. A week into our trip to Benodet I started to get really annoyed with my hair so I cut it myself. I was happy for about a minute and then realized that I need a pro….so I’m going to go find someone in Nice. Do your research because there are plenty of horror stories out there (but also really good stories).

Okay; thank you, Mary Beth. I found a blog post recommending someone in Saint-Germain des Pres; he was recommended by a magazine editor elsewhere. I might try there. Fortunately, I had a good haircut right before I left the States, so it isn’t essential for me to have another one yet. Thought it might be good to shake things up, though, and get a different perspective. If I like the guy, I will let you know!

I went to the David Mallet salon in the 2nd. Had a cut with Alain, who is a senior stylist and was awesome. Best haircut ever … but pricey. I’ll be writing a post on it soon; had a death in the family. If you can afford it, I’d recommend it. 135E plus tip.
